Administration

Laurie joined the team at Prior Street in 2009 bringing a broad range of skills in office administration and book keeping with her.  She works closely with the directors to support them in running the front office and overseeing the accounting system.  She loves coming to work to see the happy faces of the children, mixing with the staff and assisting the parents in any way she can.

Support Educator

Suzi who holds a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, has extensive experience working across all groups in a variety of early childhood settings. Suzi has been a part of the Prior Street team since the centre's opening. Prior to this she'd worked as the Preschool teacher at our Carina Heights Centre from 1999. Suzi believes that establishing trusting and caring relationships with the children and their families while providing a play based program in the Preschool Room enabled children to develop confident self-identities making the transition to school a positive experience. In her usual support role at Prior Street, Suzi loves having the opportunity to work across all the age groups in the relief teacher position - being a part of the children's journey through their very important early years of learning.  Importantly, her role working throughout the centre provides continuity of care for children; engaging in meaningful interactions with them as she support children to make decisions and to see themselves as successful learners.

Kendall has worked in childcare since 2004 and joined Prior Street Child Care and Development in 2007 not long after the centre opened.  She has travelled overseas to Europe and Asia and has experienced many different cultures. Kendall loves taking photographs not only of her own children but of the children in care - capturing the moods, environments and play.

Kendall has her Diploma in Children’s Services and is keen to extend her knowledge with ongoing professional development sessions. Kendall believes that providing children with a safe secure and enjoyable environment, rich with a variety of experiences and resources, will allow children to develop and grow confidently. She  feels that children are individuals who grow and learn at different rates and each and every child’s needs and interests should be met on a daily basis.  Kendall believes that by working as a team, valuing and respecting each other’s opinions and providing a happy, nurturing and safe environment this will provide high quality care for all children.

Vivian Vivian joined our centre in December 2015. Vivian graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with  a Bachelor in Arts with Honors and post graduate diploma of education.  She taught Chinese literature in high school from 1994 to 2006 in Hong Kong.  After moving to Brisbane with her family, she completed a Certificate III and  Diploma in Education (Early Childhood) .
