Extra Curricular
The centre carefully chooses quality educational professionals to compliment the teaching programs.
Extra curricular activities are scheduled into a “Special Events Calendar” giving the children new and exciting experiences each month.
Performers and shows bring enjoyment, entertainment and inclusion with themes of;
*Multiculturalism
* Music
* Drama
* Health and hygiene
* Environmental issues.
Events that make up the special events calendar vary from year to year
Visiting shows attract a one off yearly levy.
Parents
Participation
Parent participation is valued as we see this as another aspect of your child’s development within the centre. Whether it’s a quick 5 minutes at drop off or pick up or a few hours play during the day, you are always welcome.
Further opportunities to be part of the centre include;
* Information evenings - eg behaviour management seminars
* Play mornings, Grandparents morning tea
* Christmas concerts
* Sharing skills, occupations and interests
These events offer families the opportunity to socialise within our centre community.
Communication
Open communication between families and staff is vital to ensuring continuity of care and to meet the changing needs of each individual child.
Daily you will receive feedback (written and /or verbal) about how your child’s day has been. Information shared is dependent on the age of the child, for example for babies and toddlers you will receive more ‘routine’ based feedback.
Each month the centre distributes a newsletter to families.
Along with ‘informal’ sharing of information, the centre facilitates a more formal Parent / Teacher interview around August each year.
Staff will always contact parents should an issue arise during the day.
