Koala Room

(2 – 3.6 years)
3 educators / 15 children

The Koala room educators continue to support the growing independence of each child. The care and learning experiences, along with relationships and interactions ensures each child feels secure, confident and included. The atmosphere of the Koala's room is relaxed and happy as the educators and children actively work together for collaborative learning. As in the other rooms of the centre, the flexible curriculum encompasses planned and spontaneous interactions, experiences, routines and events – all to support a holistic approach to learning and development.

For many children in the Koala's room this may be the first time they are cared for away from the home. Like in all of the other four centre rooms, our experienced educators work closely with each family to ensure a smooth transition between home and care.

Celine, Rosie and Tayla

Celine, who is fluent in both French and English, holds a Certificate in Children’s Services and a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.  Celine is keen to explore ongoing professional development opportunities to support her role as an educator. As lead educator in the koala room, Celine nurtures the children's self-identity by providing engaging and creative pedagogy in an emotionally supportive environment.
Born in France and after extensive international travel, Celine now calls Australia home. In 2018 she welcomed a son.

Rosie feels it is a pleasure to have worked at Prior Street since its opening in 2007. Since 2003 Rosie, who holds a Certificate 3 in Child Care, has worked across Australia with children of all ages.  She enjoys helping each and every child develop and grow into successful confident, happy young individuals - which makes her very proud to be a part of their lives and to foster life long learning skills.  Rosie looks forward to caring for and educating your child.

Tayla has a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care and has been employed at Prior Street since January 2017.  Tayla has worked in Child Care since 2012 with different age groups - but especially enjoys working with the 2 to 3 year old’s.  She is always on the lookout for opportunities to extend children’s learning experiences based on their interests  - then plans fun and exciting activities to scaffold  learning.
Tayla enjoys reading books in her spare time and loves to share her enthusiasm for books and reading with the children in her care.  On the weekend Tayla likes to spend time with her family and friend
